Bee Vegan is one of the most modest vegan restaurants I must have come across in Chiang Mai. It looks very basic and is not an exciting place to sit, but once you start to flick through the menu you will see what I mean. The range of food that they have is very wide which includes a few different types of somtam, a few different salads with choices of dressings as well as the usual curries, soups and then of course the not so healthy fried foods. They even have a small selection of homemade vegan cakes and other dried snacks.

They also have juices, smoothies and cold herbal fruit teas. No caffeine or alcohol here. Many of the fried dishes are also offered as grilled so no oil. All of the dishes are well sized and incredibly cheap starting as little as 15 baht for some of the starters.

Even though they are a Thai style place everything is cooked to order. Fast and efficient. One of the best value, simple, vegan restaurants in town, which I would highly recommend.

To find it, head up to the mountain on Suthep Road. Not far after the 121 intersection, you will see a sign for Bee Vegan on the left hand side of the road. Take that slip road and then you will see the restaurant down a small alley on the right hand side. It’s quite easy to find.
