End of 2018 Round Up

So much has happened in the vegan scene in Chiang Mai over the last few months! Three brand new vegan restaurants have opened up, two restaurants have moved and a couple of fabulous new veggie-friendly restaurants have been added to the scene. Read on to get the scoop!

The first place we’d like to mention is the wonderful new vegan restaurant Asa Vegan Kitchen. This lovely place has lots of things going for it including a very pleasant ambiance and surroundings as well as very tasty dishes! Read more about them here.

Chickpea and Mango Curry

On the very same day, Munchies Vegan Fast Food opened their doors. This place is very different to anything else in Chiang Mai so far which has caused a wide variety of opinions. Read my review of Munchies here.

Mac and Cheese

In the same month, a small vegan restaurant called Hearts Choices opened up in Kad Farang. This is a Thai restaurant which makes food to order and every dish is just 49 BAHT. We have only tried here once as yet but the dish we had was great.

A few months ago Pure Vegan Heaven moved out of their location on Nimman to Freedom Art Space in Pong Noi. Although it’s a bit further out of town we much prefer the new space which now has a pretty garden and cute indoor seating.

New Location

Free Bird Cafe has also moved. Having always had fairly limited seating, they have now moved in to a much bigger space and have about three or four different seating areas as well as the zero waste store and of course the pre-loved clothing store. New dishes coming soon too!

Outside Area

Another fantastic arrival is a brand new vegan-friendly restaurant, Feast Society by Salsa Kitchen. This place has made a huge effort with their separate vegan menu which offers incredibly unique dishes that cannot be found anywhere else in Chiang Mai. They taste fantastic and it’s a very stylish place. They also offered a special vegan menu for their Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Dinner!

Feast Society

Our final shout out goes to Kham Luang, which is another new vegan-friendly restaurant. This is a Thai style place not too far from the airport. The owners have made a big effort to include clearly marked vegan dishes throughout their entire menu from main dishes to smoothie bowls to baked goods.

Have you been to all these restaurants yet? Which is your favourite?
