This restaurant is part of a hotel which is called Green Tiger house. It is in a great spot just inside the old city. They opened a couple of years ago as a vegetarian restaurant and to our delight then made the switch to completely vegan.

The setting has to be the nicest of all the vegetarian restaurants that we have found so far. It is a very cozy, beautifully decorated and comfortable place to enjoy a meal with friends. There is plenty of seating and it has a great ambiance.

On to the food. The menu is fairly large and includes a mixture of both Thai and Western food. Their most popular dish has to be the the vegan mushroom burger which is hands-down the best vegan burger that we’ve tried in Chiang Mai. It is so very tasty and is a good size and it doesn’t fall apart in your hands like some of them do. The curried wedges are also particularly delicious. These all come with homemade vegan mayonnaise.

Other excellent dishes include their grilled vegetable sandwich – a huge portion which is able to satisfy anyone’s hunger. Served with a delicious homemade pesto. They also have classic Thai dishes such as a masaman curry. Healthier options include Burmese tea leaf salad, avocado salad or veggie sticks with a creamy dip. They even have desserts and sell alcohol too!

The owner, Daniel, has been a vegetarian since birth. He is a very friendly and welcoming chap, his team have clearly done an excellent job of making this restaurant a success. In fact, it was so successful that in December 2017 they opened a new sister branch; Goodsouls Kitchen Chiang Mai!
