This lovely little restaurant is in the heart of the old city. From Thapae date, walk down Rachadamonoen Road away from the city and then take Soi 5 on the right hand side of the road. Keep walking down and you will see the café on the left side of the road. There used to be an additional branch, which actually opened first. Now there is just this second one so it is sometimes still referred to as Bodhi Tree Café 2.

It has a pleasant little rustic wooden setting with outdoor seating and indoor floor seating (you’ll need to remove your shoes). It’s a small and cute place with a nice vibe. The menu is fairly limited but has some interesting options on it including Thai and Western food and even a whole page of raw food which I was particularly impressed with. Not everything is 100% raw as there is still soya sauce and the like which might bother some fruitarians but basically nothing in that section is cooked. The green mango salad is delicious.

My favourite is the wholewheat pancake which you can order vegan with a coconut based yoghurt and served with fruit. I also enjoyed the tortilla. We love that they have plenty of oil-free options.

They do sell dairy products such as eggs and cheese but they say they can make anything vegan and they cater very well towards vegans with the items on the menu. We also love the fact that everything is organic so no chemicals or MSG.

Khun Lotus, the owner, is a lovely lady who is very friendly and chatty. She will go out of her way to make you feel welcome and at home here.
