Vegan Town Lampang: Guest House Review

Lampang is just over an hour’s drive south of Chiang Mai. Did you know that it’s actually a surprisingly vegan-friendly city? Main bonus is that it has it’s very own 100% vegan guest house! We stayed at Vegan Town Lampang in May 2019 and had a wonderful time.

The grounds are located a few kilometres out of the main city. The setting is very idyllic, right on the Wang river and you are surrounded by lush greenery including their own herb and vegetable plantations where most of the food that they use for cooking is grown.

The bamboo huts are very simple but have very comfortable bedding, a mosquito net, power outlets and an outdoor seating area. Wi-Fi is available throughout the grounds. There are plenty of seating areas to sit in around including salas and seating overlooking the river.

We had a delicious dinner that consisted of several Thai dishes. These were fried Chinese kale, dtom yum soup, a fried mushroom dish as well as fresh salad and fresh vegetables. Dinner was a lovely experience and the owners were extremely hospitable.

The next morning we woke up to a western style breakfast consisting of a large plate of fruit, some bread and some cereals with soy milk. We were also served some herbal tea and juice. Eating breakfast in the pretty surroundings overlooking the river scene was a very pleasant experience.

All of the dishes we had were amazing and the owners were wonderful hosts. If you need to stay in Lampang then look no further than this guest house. In fact we would even say that a visit to Lampang is worth it just so that you can stay in this guest house!

Should you also be visiting the main city then there are plenty more vegan and veggie restaurants to be found. Check the HappyCow page for the listings and see also my YouTube video about veganism in Lampang, note this video was made before Vegan Town Lampang’s existence.
