If anyone remembers the Tea Tree Café in its second location in the same space as Pun Pun in Chiang Mai, then you might have some familiarity with Blossom Cafe, as it’s from the same owner – the lovely Nok. She then opened this completely new restaurant in Pai, just a short walk outside of the town a few metres away from Bom Bowls.

The actual café is a rustic, relaxing place which has a chilled, hippy vibe with pretty décor. The food is just as pretty as everything is so colourful and bright and has lovely little decorations like edible flowers and hibiscus petals.

The smoothie bowls come in a range of colourful flavours, you can choose from cacao bliss, minty blues or cacao bliss, sunshine or pretty in pink. These all taste fabulous! They are just the right thickness and sweetness and have a range of toppings that are unique from just the usual granola.

We like this restaurant for a brunch or lunch but there are heartier meals as well such as pulled ‘pork’ sandwich or a tempeh platter as well as a range of hot drinks and smoothies. Like the smoothie bowls, they are just as tasty as they are colourful. Food and drinks are all vegan except for the option of adding egg or honey in a couple of dishes which are clearly noted.

I will always remember how amazing the vegan desserts were at Tea Tree, which often changed depending on what the owner has made that day. These were always by far the best desserts I had in Chiang Mai. I was so happy to see that Nok is making these delicious treats at Blossom, you’ll always find a couple to choose from in the fridge. The cheesecake I had lived up to my expectations.

Blossom Cafe is a wonderful addition to the vegan scene and should be the first place that you visit if you’re coming up to Pai!
