I’m sure you love hummus, right? I’ve yet to find a vegan who doesn’t. In fact, I’ve yet to find a non-vegan who doesn’t like it either. Although I’m actually talking about the dish, I could also easily be talking about this restaurant!

Hummus is a vegetarian Mediterranean restaurant that opened up in the centre of the city in May 2019. It is a modern, stylish restaurant with an open bar area in the front and table seating inside with air-con. You can find it right off the moat road past Thapae Gate just before Wat Dok Kham down a small soi. Look down the soi as it is otherwise easy to miss.

They offer a fairly large menu of veggie food including many labelled vegan dishes and many which have a vegan option. As you’ll no doubt guess, there are many kinds of dishes with hummus as well as falafel, taboleh with bulgur wheat, cranberries and cashew nuts and sliced fried zucchini with tahini.

They have an exquisite vegan dessert made of coconut, nuts and fruit. They also sell alcohol and the prices certainly won’t break the bank either. The place generally has a good atmosphere and the owner is very welcoming and friendly, as are the staff.

If you haven’t been to Hummus Chiang Mai yet, you need to get down and try it. Our favourite is the classic hummus which is served with pitta bread and pickles and tastes great. This is rating as our favourite place for authentic falafel and hummus in Chiang Mai.

They even have a baby and toddler playroom so if you have little ones you can keep them entertained.
