Imm Aim has been quite well established for some time despite some changes. Some of us long termers will remember when it was formerly known as Pun Pun some time ago and following the name change they then moved from their location in the centre of Santhitam to another street about a kilometre away. It’s still pretty easy to find. If you turn off the moat down to Santhitam temple take the next left after the temple and it is up the road on the left hand side. Although they no longer have the garden the new building is very nice and modern and they’ve expanded out since opening with new seating areas down the side and up on the balcony area.

On to the food, when you first open the menu you might find it a little disappointing. There are a lot of dishes with eggs and/or dairy, unfortunately. They do have quite an extensive menu though so vegans are still well covered. Once your food arrives, you will understand what this place is all about and what makes it special. Although the dishes appear to be uninteresting they are actually made very uniquely. The salads are not coated with oil or salty sauce yet they are still full of flavour. The Pad Thai is another dish made this way as it is not cooked in oil at all. It’s a little dry but we much prefer food this way that is actually healthy as well as vegan. If you are used to dishes being made in the usual Thai way, it might not be your thing. If you are looking for dishes that are cooked uniquely and healthily it will be right up your street.

They also have all the usual Thai curries and some other interesting sounding dishes. They have breakfasts served all day, coffees, teas and lots of shakes. They have some amazing vegan baked goods such as chocolate croissants although I’ve yet to try them as when I have been they’ve already been gobbled up by all the other hungry vegans in Chiang Mai!

A friendly family ownership provides a great service and meals arrive timely. If you are a High-Carb Low-Fat vegan you are going to love this place. If you aren’t you will still find plenty of regular dishes that you like so there’s something for everyone really.
