Our Top 10 Recommendations for Restaurant Owners

  1. We obviously recommend that restaurants do not sell any meat, poultry or fish of any kind in the menu, nor offer it as an available alternative.
  2. Please provide plenty of (if not only) vegan options. Please state clearly which options can be made vegan. (We wonder why every vegetarian restaurant does not do this.)
  3. Provide something different in the menu. Standard veggie burgers, Thai food and salads can be found everywhere. We have enjoyed Shan food, Japanese food, Mexican food, Mediterranean food and interesting mixes across these cuisines.
  4. Offer some raw options.
  5. Offer plenty of dishes that are plant-based whole foods and not all loaded with oil and salt.
  6. Stay open in the evening! We need to eat dinner, too.
  7. Provide free water. Most vegetarian restaurants offer free water as standard practice. If your restaurant doesn’t then why not?
  8. Do not waste unnecessary plastic such as cups, bottles or straws. Environmental awareness should be an important policy for every vegan and vegetarian restaurant.
  9. Efficiency isn’t the top of our list, customers should live a relaxed life and we’re aware that people make mistakes. An apology and a rectified mistake is enough for us. A smiling face goes a long way too!
  10. Finally we would request not to over-price and make your portion sizes generous. Vegans can usually eat more than a normal sized meal that is a filled with meat or dairy.

Thank you for reading our recommendations! We hope that this is useful information to you!
