Pure Vegan Heaven has not copied Vegan Heaven as some people have suggested. They have well established branches in other parts of Thailand and in December 2017 they opened this fabulous new branch in Chiang Mai. Their style is completely different from Vegan Heaven that is in town.

Chiang Mai has needed a restaurant like this for some time. They are not only 100% vegan but their dishes are all very healthy and unique. They do not use any hydrogenated oils, refined sugars or flours. Almost all of their dishes are quite exclusive and won’t be found anywhere else in Chiang Mai.

For breakfast they have açaí smoothie bowls, sweet potato pancakes, tofu breakfast bowls and more. All of these are of a good size and taste very good. It’s clear that they have used quality ingredients.  For lunch they have a range of salads including a raw somtam as well as tacos and their very popular Mexican bowl or falafel bowl. Other dishes include wraps, a menu of Thai dishes, gluten-free pasta dishes and a range of desserts, some of which are raw. They have a range of juices, smoothies, organic coffees and teas and superfood health shots.

It is great that we have a venue that makes a complete range of healthy dishes none of which have been compromised in flavour. This is the only restaurant in Chiang Mai that you can go to and order anything from the menu that will be plant-based whole foods (either cooked or completely raw.)

I have heard people complain that it’s a bit expensive and whilst this cannot be denied there are a few things to remember. They have not used cheap ingredients it’s all healthy AND tasty, which is hard to get right. After five visits you can get a loyalty which will then entitle you to 10% off on every visit thereafter. If you visit on your birthday bring your ID and your loyalty card and lots of friends, you will get your own meal for free and your friends will get 20%!

In August 2018, Pure moved from their rather simple location on Nimmahemin Road to a much more pleasant venue at Freedom Art Space, near Pong Noi. The new location is still small but has a much nicer inside area as well as a pretty garden.

If you’re looking for cheap, local, simple food it won’t be your thing. If you’re looking for tasty, healthy, whole-foods based, unique, exquisite vegan dishes then it will be right up your street.

Finally we must mention our appreciation for the long opening hours as not many places are open for 12 hours a day, especially not vegan ones.
